Forest Value Investment Management S.A. (“FVIM”) manages a specialised investment fund (“Forest and Biomass” or the “Fund”). The Fund invests in and manages undervalued land and forests for the production of wood, agriculture and biomass products. The objective is to build multiple property clusters that will derive benefits from forthcoming major changes in the demand for and the supply of those products. The initial focus is on Europe, OECD countries outside of Europe and selected emerging markets.

  • IN DECEMBER 2013, FOREST AND BIOMASS ACQUIRES THE APADIA FOREST IN ROMANIA

    100_3148For about four years now, the Fund has built up market knowledge and local expertise in Romania. After the acquisition of the Petriş and Birchiş forests in 2011 and the acquisition of the Giulvăz farm in 2012, our third major transaction was completed in December 2013.

    The Apadia forest is a broadleaves forest mainly composed of beech, oak and hornbeam and is located in the county of Caras-Severin, some 120 km from the Petriş forest. Read more

  • IN NOVEMBER 2012, FOREST AND BIOMASS ACQUIRES THE GIULVAZ FARM IN ROMANIA

    forest_value_015For more than three years now, the Fund has built up market knowledge and local expertise in Romania. After the acquisitions of the Petriş and Birchiş forests in 2011, our second major transaction was completed and constituted, to our knowledge, one of the major agriculture land deals in the country in 2012. The asset comprises of 4,036 ha of productive land (mainly chernozem), farm buildings, a large storage base as well as agriculture machinery and equipment, located in and around Giulvăz, 30 km from Timişoara, close to the Serbian and Hungarian borders.     Forest and Biomass intends to build a diversified portfolio of clusters of forests and land for the production of biomass and timber, in Romania and elsewhere. The acquisition provides Forest and Biomass an ideal base for the building of a first cluster in Western Romania. Read more
